Bill: Bill NP-57- Salary Cap Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: National Progress Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: December 5174

Description[?]:

(This bill was proposed by the Minister of Trade and Industry Julie Haket)
It's time that we put an end to outrageous inequalities within our corporations. CEOs and managers making tons of money while their employees are struggling to feed their families should be a thing of the past. This is why we want to give to the ministry of Trade and Industry the power to act against these injustices.

Provision;

Article 1)The Ministry shall have the power to set salary cap on different industries and economics areas.
Article 2)The minister of Trade and Industry, with the agreement of the Prime Minister and the President, can set a salary cap for one specific corporation.

MessageIf the motive of NPP is to be equal to all. Then why focus on one particular corporation? We stand for equal rights for all the employees and the supervisors higher in the hierarchy. Private companies aren't nationalized to split their income equally, they are profit-based companies. If the government was really worried for the employee why did they allow such companies to be established in the first place, they have been in power and under strong opposition for decades now.

Also, the government should focus on providing subsidiaries with a better and free health and education system, so that the employees don't have to rely on their salary.

We want minimal government intervention in the issue of private companies, although implying these laws in public and government-run companies would boast the morale and well-being of the workers and the company with all the benefits.

MessageMr. Speaker,

We do not plan to focus on one particular corporation. Although our bill contains provisions that allow us to focus on a specific corporation for more flexibility, we entend to impose salary cap on most corporation and area of industry.

If indeed, we are always willing to give to hutorian workers better education for their families and better healthcare services, we also believe that equality and better treatment are to start directly at work.

How can anyone ever be expected to provide a decent living condition to their family if they are not given a decent wage? Even with better strong government support? We need to cut the problem at the root. End the inequalities directly at work, ensure a better distribution of wealth.

MessageMr. Speaker,

We can understand the motive of the government and truly support the bill. Although we would suggest that the government would prepare a joint committee to discuss these issues when raised by the employees or the companies so that it would fair judgment.

MessageMr. Speaker,

We wholeheardly support this policy. After all, our party has already introduced bills that have included this policy. We hope this can finally pass. We also will support the enforcement of a salary cap that curbs the ability of capitalists to exploit the people.
