MessageNuclear power is a sticky enough issue that communities should be able to decide what stance to take on it themselves. Also, devolving the maintenance of the power grid to the provinces will ensure accountability and let the national government focus on national problems.

MessageAs if a 'clean' province would not be affected by a nuclear disaster in a neighbouring province. We find this bill to be short-sighted. As soon as we find our glasses, we will push the 'No' button.

MessageIs the IFP suggesting a national standard for (or, rather, against) nuclear power? The IPC notes that none currently exists. We also note that this bill would allow localities that do not want nuclear power to opt out of it.

MessageNuclear power is a worthwhile endeavour and without continuing it, research into nuclear fusion will stagnate. I fear that too many individuals with react fearfully to nuclear power and that local councils will vote against the presence of power stations in this area, thus increasing the cost of power and limiting the spread of nuclear power.

I am thoroughly in favour of nuclear power but I do not trust the local communities to look at the bigger picture when deciding on this issue.

Random fact: RP laws follow the same passing rules as in-game variable laws. Laws that are not of a constitutional nature require a simple majority "Yes" vote from active parties currently holding seats. Laws that are of a constitutional nature require a 2/3 majority "Yes" vote from active parties currently holding seats. RP laws may be abolished a simple majority vote this applies to ANY RP law.
