Bill: RP Law: Imperial Succession Law

Details

Submitted by[?]: Conservative Party (Whigs)

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: April 5435

Description[?]:

(OOC: This is an RP law, it requires 2/3 of all votes to pass it, it has nothing to do with who controls the monarchy, it is wise to pass it to prevent foreign monarchs on our throne, like the Yeudi monarchy who is currently in the line of succession)

The Imperial Throne is a symbol of the long history and culture in this country. This law attempts to aid this culture by setting in formal law the succession of the throne and limiting who can ascend it.

1. Only members of the House of Rothingren-Traugott-Orange-Villayn (Orange-Villayn dynasty) and their cadet branches may ascend the Imperial throne;

2. The Imperial Monarch reigns until death or abdication and is then succeeded by their eldest living child or the eldest living grandchild;
2.1. If the eldest child or grandchild is female she must marry matralinialy, meaning that she and her children remain a part of the imperial house and not surplant it with another dynasty;
2.2. The rule mentioned above does not apply if the eldest female child or grandchild marries a male of another cadet branch of the same dynasty;

3. If the reigning monarch dies without children then;
3.1. Their next eldest sibling inherets the throne, if that sibling is female she must abide by article 2.1. and 2.2.;
3.2. If no sibling is available then all females are excluded to preserve the dynasty, the succession moves up to previous generations until a living male heir or his male decendents of the dynasty are found;
3.3. If no heir is easily found or the reigning house died out in the male or matralinial line, a cadet branch may be invited to take the throne;
3.4. If a cadet branch is invited prefference must be given to the Orange-Hutori branch and their decendents such as the Steuart-Carmichaels;
3.5. If a cadet branch takes the throne they must take the name 'Orange-Villayn' or a variant of it as the name of their house (example: Orange-Villayn-Carmichael or Orange-Villayn-Armstead)
3.6. If a successor is found the normal succession laws of article 2 are again to be followed.
