Bill: IPS - Trade Union Strike Ballots Act // 2252
Details
Submitted by[?]: Imperial Party of Selucian
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: July 2253
Description[?]:
We think unions are important to represent the workers in discussions with the industries. On the other site unions who want to represent them have to work to keep them active in the union. Therefore a ballot not based on all union members can't represent the whole will of them. Let me use an example. A union with 100.000 members is holding a ballot. But 35.000 members choosed to stay at home as they don't want to participate for what reasons however. In this case there are 65.000 left and the majority would be 33.000 votes for a strike. In this case the never represet the 100 T membersjust 1/3. This can't be possible. But a majority of all members regardless of they vote or not would activate the union to take more care of their members to keep them active. It is always a bad sign if union members stay away 'cause they don't feel represented anymore. THe union leaders have to work FOR the members and not the members for the union leaders. |
