Bill: National Security: Rearming Keymon

Details

Submitted by[?]: Christian Democrats

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: August 2257

Description[?]:

"The threat of paramilitary organisations cannot be ignored. It is time Keymon put a permanent end to these paramilitary organisations and destroyed any possibility of insurgency forever. My department has assembled a plan that will provide Keymon with a national guard of 10,000 soldiers. This is a high number of soldiers per capita, with 150,000 additional soldiers being available in case of a national emergency. However, 10,000 is enough to defeat any insurgency and will cost us 500 million KEDs."

-- Henry Boone, Minister of Defense

MessageHow do you propose to raise the 500 million KEDs? Is it possible to have a smaller guard and thus a smaller bill?

MessageI suggest if the CD is truely commited to delpoying such troops they fund them through party funding. As they have the fanatically following to support approximatley 10,000 troops.

Message"We are ideologically opposed to para-military organisations, although I have great faith that moral, Christian, upstanding citizens will flock to the recruiting offices when we begin to rearm. As far as the funding itself, it is being dealt with."

Message"I suppose that as the opposition to which these comments are aimed, we should be should be worried. However if this is the only way in which the CD are willing to lend some military protection , so be it, but let it be known now that the DPP and AGK never set out to fight the CD government. No if civil war should once again break out, then the blame lies solely with the CD."

Message"I am pleased to announce that Kafuristan has pledged to send us 400 million KAF in aid to support the recreation of a Keymonian military. This is roughly equivalent to a similar amount of KEDs, leaving us with between a 100 and 150 million shortfall. We will be proposing a small tax increase, and looking for ways to cut costs, to cover this difference. However, this means we will begin recruiting 10,000 soldiers immediately upon passage of this bill."
