Proposals
Article 1
Proposal[?] to change The lyrics of the national anthem.
Old value:: God of Nations at Thy feet, In the bonds of love we meet, Hear our voices, we entreat, God defend our free land. Guard the people’s mighty star, From the shafts of strife and war, Make her praises heard afar, God defend Kazulia. Men of ev'ry creed and race, Gather here before Thy face, Asking Thee to bless this place, God defend our free land. From dissension, envy, hate, And corruption guard our State, Make our country good and great, God defend Kazulia. Peace, not war, shall be our boast, But, should foes assail our coast, Make us then a mighty host, God defend our free land. Lord of battles, in Thy might, Put our enemies to flight, Let our cause be just and right, God defend Kazulia. Let our love for Thee increase, May Thy blessings never cease, Give us plenty, give us peace, God defend our free land. From dishonour and from shame, Guard our country's spotless name, Crown her with immortal fame, God defend Kazulia. May our mountains ever be Freedom's ramparts on the sea, Make us faithful unto thee, God defend our free land. Guide her in the nations' van, Preaching love and truth to man, Working out Thy Glorious plan, God defend Kazulia.
Current:
God bless our good country! Bless her with strength and courage bless home and castle! Guide her with your Spirit, forge with your strong Hand holy bonds of allegiance around people and country! Loudly pledge citizens of Kazulia each in their calling, their station, loyalty to their country. Loyal in life and death, courageous in war and distress, always our people obeyed God and their country |
Proposed:
Pride of nations at our gate, In the bonds of love we state: 'Here our voices instigate,' Together is our band. Guard the people's mighty core, From the stabs of strife and war, Like thunder ne'er heard before, We'll defend the motherland. All of, any sex or race, Gather here afore this place, Ensuring needs go not to waste, Let our nourishments be planned. From discordance, hate, and greed, The state protects us out of deed, Generations we are to feed, O, our Kazulia grand. Peace, not war, shall be our boast, But, should foes assail our coast, Make us then a mighty host, Final needn't be our stand. Blaze our crops and give them blight, Put our en'my to mortal fight, Let our cause be just and right, Every turret shall be manned. Let our love for her increase, May her blessings never cease, Though if lux'ries may decrease, Dear we always hold our land. From dishonour, from any shame, We guard our country's spotless name, She's adorned with an immortal fame, Kazulia's foes are damned. Golden laurels are our trees, May our mountains ever be Freedom's ramparts 'pon the seas, Lusher than any sand. Guided out of hist'ry's hutch, Teaching love and truth to such, Working with her hand's firm touch, O, Kazulia lets us be. |

Message | I support Article 2, but not Article 1. I don't see why we need to remove references to God in the anthem. |
Date | 16:49:55, July 27, 2006 CET | From | Communist Party of Kazulia | To | Debating the Separation of Church and State |
Message | It's not quite specifically removing-references-of-God, but rather it can be seen as not-declaring-our-nation-divine. The wordings in many parts have been changed as well, making it less repetitive and more glorious than before. |
Date | 10:15:33, July 28, 2006 CET | From | Liberal Democrat Party | To | Debating the Separation of Church and State |
Message | This is preposterous! That national anthem is perfect! |

Message | God strike me if it is. ...I'm still waiting. |
