Bill: National Commonwealth Standard

Details

Submitted by[?]: Catholic Workers Union

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: October 2264

Description[?]:

It's time for a flag that truly represents our Telamon Commonwealth, and that is not a copy of the flag of another nation (see Marshall Islands).

We believe the two hands grasped together reflect our Telamon faith in unity and a national embrace for difference. The rose, of course, represents love and passion. We believe this reflects our common love of country and our passion for a brighter Telamonite future. And of course, the blue on both sides reflects both our geographical location and our strong mariner tradition.

Our new banner will be referred to as the National Commonwealth Standard.

We submit this proposal to Parliament on the 18th day of February, in the year of our Lord 2264 for approval.

MessagePlease support this, even if you don't think it's perfect. We can put another one through later, but it's important we get rid of the old Marshall Islands flag that leaves us stuck in the past.

I'm putting this to a vote early so the C&UP can vote for this before they depart. I hope they recognize the Britannic line at the end of the description that will make them more eager to support this.

MessageThough I find it interesting that you have put your party's symbol on the flag, I like it. Kudos.

MessageThanks. I put our symbol on just cause I thought it was pretty. And I'm glad to see someone's followed that link, and perhaps, read a little of the Second Telapolis Statement.

I should warn you there's a possibility it might look a little pixleated at first. I can get someone on the forum to fix that, even though it's probably not going to happen.
