MessageShameless inhuman robbery. If you pass this, you will have massive civil conflict on your hands. Prisons will overflow and you will have to set up gulags and internment camps to hold them all. Police will be forced to fire into uncontrollable crowds. The same thing has happened a dozen times in history. Do not repeat their mistakes, or the blood will be on your hands.

MessageThis is so extreme. What is the point in earning anything over 100,000 NEDs if almost all of it will go to tax? I would like to see some income tax, but such an extreme move will cause riots. the country cannot just switch from no tax to extreme tax. Progress takes time if you want to do it properly. 90% tax isn't even progressive, unless you are really keen on communism.

MessageTaxes have been at 95% in the past in New Endralon and the top rate will likely only affect a small minority of people - and don't forget that the first 20,000 of anyone's income won't now be taxed at all which will actually benefit a large section of the population. The revenues meanwhile will allow huge amounts of money to be spent on restoring our once great welfare state and ending the scandal of poverty, ill-health and illiteracy once and for all.

MessageThis is a GRADUATED income, meaning that the first 20K NED are taxed 10%, the next 20K are taxed 30%, and so on. If a fellow earns, say, 23K NED, that doesn't mean that he's taxed 30%. That would result in a lot of 29K NED earners. Instead, the first 20K are taxed 10%, and that last 3K is taxed the 30%. It goes a long way towards equalizing income somewhat, but still leaving a margin for people to aspire to 'more'.

As a side note, it also gets rid of the immense fortunes of company owners, politicians, and so forth, making Endralon a little better of a place.

MessageI think your maths is wrong, NFC. The first 20,000 NEDs of anyone's income is 0%, and the next 20,000 is taxed at 10%. That means a person earning 23,000 NEDs will only pay (10%) income tax on the 3,000.

What is 23,000 NEDs anyway? It could be the price of a sandwich or the cost of a house. Is there a way to find out it's rough translation into British Pounds?
