Bill: The National Anthem Act 2075

Details

Submitted by[?]: Social Democratic Liberal Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: December 2076

Description[?]:

This bill aims to create the first Hobrazian national anthem. We feel that, following the national anthem debate, the lyrics reflect both what we can do for our country and what our country does for us.

MessageJust to let you all know I've also written music for the anthem, and there should hopefully be a link soon to a MIDI file of this.

MessageI'm not into all this national pride thing...

how can Hobrazia defend 'our rights'? Such rights would be infringed if this new ID card scheme passes!

Message@WSS: Thanks very much!
@USM: When one sings their national anthem, surely the idea is to show respect and pride in one's country? Regarding ID cards, this is a matter for legislators (ie. all of us!) whereas the Hobrazian constitution ensures we live in a democratic society with the most basic rights guaranteed.

MessageLooks good to me!

@USM - If you disagree with the ID cards then you try to get people to vote against them. What rights are they infringing on? Personally I feel your scheme to nationalise the media is more of a threat to the rights of Hobrazian citizens than one ID card could ever be.

MessageSo you want the Hobrazian rugby team to be singing "None" at the beginning of every international match...

Personally we feel that an anthem is better than none and helps instill pride among our citizens. As a well written song the proposed one is suitable for this and we hope that the music will be able to match it in quality.

MessageTo UB and all other parties, we would like to offer our sincere apologies, the song we were actually referring to is the song from the Prisoner of Azkaban movie, the one that Hogwarts school choir performs at the start of the year feast. It's Double Trouble.

Double, double, toil and trouble
Fire burn and cauldron bubble
Double, double, toil and trouble
Something wicked this way comes.

Hopefully our comment makes a little more sense now.
