Bill: National Unity Cabinet Of Active Parties (October 2300)

Details

Submitted by[?]: Lotus Coalition of the Endless Knot

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill presents the formation of a cabinet. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. Traditionally, parties in the proposal vote yes, others (the opposition) vote no. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in and all parties in the proposal have voted yes, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline.

Voting deadline: June 2301

Description[?]:

"This takes into consideration the parties that showed an interest in the most recent cabinet discusion and allocates seats accordingly. We feel cabinet positions have been allocated fairly and to the strengths of each party, the passing of this will ensure stability and unity for the Duchy."

Message"This appears fairer than previous proposals. I personally remain cautious and disgusted regarding the welcoming of the Marxists to this government. Putting Marxists in charge of food means we have created a Minister of Starvation."

Message"The aim of this proposal was to overcome party political disputes and form a government actually able to run the nation. As such the Marxists were included as they hold an important role in the Assembly not on ideological grounds. Let us not forget that our current cabinet has Ministers that quit the political process years ago. We have no Internal Affairs Minister and no Justice Minister, we desperately need some. However the Figs appear to be voting against this proposal and as such it looks as though it will fail. We will look into proposing another cabinet."
