Bill: Homeschooling

Details

Submitted by[?]: Social Libertarian party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: December 2076

Description[?]:

As it stands home-schooling isn't allowed. Once this bill comes into effect then homeschooling will be legal, although heavily regulated (To prevent isolation and such) and only with consent of the child (If over thirteen) being homeschooled, who will talk to a counseler in a monitered setting to make sure that the child actually is giving consent without parental pressure.

The legalisation of homeschooling will allow for children with special needs to be in a more supportive environment, as opposed to teasing and a person who can help them with their limitations as parents will obviously know more about how to help their child and provide more love then teachers.

The household will be screened for dangers to the child and the parents will be given a short class and monthy insruction unless it is determined not to be needed (Former teachers, monthly insruction stops helping ect.).

Messageno, people's against it and it isolates children. Also special schools exist when someone needs special attention (i've been to such school and 100% passed the exams and the year before that 99%)

MessageThe government would regulate it to prevent isolation and all the other negatives and being in public can be harmful towards children with certain kinds of illnesses, like autism.

MessageI mean in large groups and if the children wish to support their children then that saves us money on building larger schools, teachers and such.

Random fact: Any RP law granting extraordinary "emergency powers" or dictator-like powers to a government must be passed by at least a 2/3rds majority, but (like all RP laws) may always be overturned by a simple majority vote of the legislature.
