Bill: Local Power for the Regions Bill

This bill will de-centralise Darnussia to a sensible extent. The People's Party believes that a higher degree of regional autonomy is absolutely necessary, so we propose a radical reform package to give Darnussian locals more representitive and active democracy. |

Message | This is a radical devolution bill that will give more power to direct rather than indirect representitives of the people. However, because it's quite radical, I'm willing to compromise: Any thoughts? |

Message | Article 1 Proposal[?] to change Higher Education Institutions Current: The government maintains a system of universities, vocational schools, and colleges nationwide. Proposed: The government leaves the development and funding of vocational schools and colleges up to local governments. That would cause greater regional differences between higher-education facilities |

Message | The situation is pretty pristine at current, with national parks and free libaries universal accross the nation. Local governments might wreck this. |

Message | But such a centralised beurocracy fails to understand the needs of locals. For example, some local may need more parks than others, and it is regional officials who will realise this better than any centrally planned government. Why should men in suits in the capitol dictate policy in regions they've never been to or know nothing of? |
