Bill: Constitutional Change of Head Of State

Details

Submitted by[?]: Marxist-Socialist Party of Hobrazia

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: December 2330

Description[?]:

The MSPoH believes that the idea of Chancellor should be changed for the fundamental reason that it suggests the idea of an empire, or brings to mind the implimentation of that the state of Hobrazia should be imperialist in nature which is fundamentally opposed to a socialist ideology. We ask that the other nations come up with another name for the Head of State for our great nation.

We propose; President, since we have a Prime Minister as Head of government. But we ask the other political parties of Hobrazia to negotiate a different name.

MessageWe believe the name 'Chancellor' has no such implication that the MSPoH implies toward it and as such would rather maintain such a title.

MessageWhy should Chancellor be more imperialistic than President (OOC: especially when looking at the real world now:-))

We will not participate in a change unless it has a socialist undertone such as Protector of the People, Socialist Number One etc. (the later being for fun);-)

Message"The MSPoH believes that the idea of Chancellor should be changed for the fundamental reason that it suggests the idea of an empire, or brings to mind the implimentation of that the state of Hobrazia should be imperialist in nature which is fundamentally opposed to a socialist ideology." That's not true.

OOC: The USSR, anyone? Or China's annexation of non-traditional territory, such as Tibet?

MessageAnd how can Chancellor be understood as imperialistic, we have a government to. Please name situations in the history of Terra where the Chancellor post was used or could be interpreted as imperialistic.

Random fact: The majority of nations in Particracy are "Culturally Protected" with an established cultural background. Only the "Culturally Open" nations are not bound by the rules surrounding culture. The Cultural Protocols Index should be consulted for more information about the cultural situation of each nation.
