Message | We certainly should regulate animal testing. Animal testing, while distasteful, is also much more preferable than testing it on humans. For the first stage, at least. The FBP would have no problem with criminals condemed to death to instead opt for being used as second-stage testing guinea-pigs. |

Message | But rats are killed in their droves anyway as pests - why does it need to have strict regulation? |

Message | About 95% of test animals are mice so when you moan about monkeys and dogs its only a handful. |

Message | Its still a handful too much, and who says that nobody cares about the mice? |

Message | In tis situation I would prefer basic regulation. I do care about mice (not really actually but...) but I care about humans sooooooo much more. |

Message | We support this proposal. For the cute bunnies of Beluzia. We also have vague pictures of the leadership of the Partisans And Artisans League torturing monkeys with a stick to support our point. |

Message | Fear not though, you in the left-wing, I'm sure you'll find lots of mindless idiots and Jonny-pencil-pushers to support your path tho self-destruction and misery. Long live Beluzia! and all her fair citizens (irrespective of their liberal ideology)! |

Message | Monkeys and girbils are not known for their thought crimes. The punishment must fit the crime, and these kindly beasts are not known for their wicked sedition... quite unlike the well known sedition of our communist overlords! The PPP has respect for all form,s of life! Our Chimp riders are well known by the opposition! With each chimp astride a french or old english mastiff, bearing a hatchet or cowbar in his ready hand, gladly incapacitating the traitorous opposition wherever they cower from our righteous vengance! Their abuses are well known, the hollow, tired face of our grandmothers, the confused and righteously angry face of our children... they tell the story of communist abuse! Strike, while the iron is hot! Let them feel the sting of our anger! |

Date | 20:21:51, July 16, 2005 CET | From | Beluzian Labor Party | To | Debating the Animal testing bill |
Message | While Labor believes that researchers should have to apply for licenses to test on animals, and while we believe that they should submit to a minimal set of regulations about the care of these animals (just as any pet owner does), Labor also recognises the value that animal research has. The advances made through testing on animals are advances in quality of life for Beluzians. We feel it is dangerous to submit the actual research practices themselves to bureaucratic review. If this resolution restricted itself to animal licensing and regulating standards of care (not relating to the testing necessary to the research itself), as well as to the ethical standards researchers already have in place within their own institutions, Labor would support it. As this resolution interferes in the research practices themselves, we cannot in good conscience support it. |
