Bill: Charter School Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Partisans And Artisans League
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: June 2081
Description[?]:
We propose that the the formation of charter schools be allowed. However the private organisations who run them must run them on a non-profit basis. This would encourage a series of schools which would have the benefit of being run by a company with tight reins on their fianances whilst pushing pupils to achieve new academic highs. This would increase diversity within the education system allowing the sharing of knowledge and techniques to benefit all pupils in Beluzia. |
Proposals
Article 1
Proposal[?] to change Charter school policy (free, privately run, publicly funded schools).
Old value:: Charter schools are not allowed.
Current: Charter schools must be non-profit and have a specific focus.
Proposed: Only non-profit organizations may establish charter schools.

Message | Labor supports education as a right for all Beluzians. We support both private and public education, and believe that it is in the best interests of Beluzia's students for private schools to prioritise quality of education ahead of profit margins. We believe this bill will naturally refocus private schools on the quality of education they provide as opposed to on getting a high return on their bottom line. |

Message | Religious schools and charter schools come under different legislation so I assume (correct me if I'm wrong anyone) that it would be safe to assume that they are not 'religious' schools. Although as religious schools are legal they might be... |
