Message | Absolutely not. It is proven again and again MAD is in fact a logical and well-thought form of defence. Also, nuclear weapons can play a vital strategic role in warfare, in order to assure victory while obtaining minimal casualties. |
Date | 01:54:19, January 11, 2007 CET | From | New Democratic Party | To | Debating the Nuclear Disarmanent Act |
Message | Even right-wing leaders realised the inherent madness in MAD and attempted to secure a nuclear-free world. There can be no victory in annihilation and it may be a deterrent but it causes unproductive and unsustainable arms races. The collective of humanity is greater than any single nation and we must refuse to condemn our species over petty nationalist sentiment. (I'm referring to Ronald Reagan) |
Date | 19:37:33, January 11, 2007 CET | From | National Conservative Party | To | Debating the Nuclear Disarmanent Act |
Message | A nuclear-free world only works if everyone gives up nuclear weapons. Until that point the NCP continues to advocate the policy of absolute defence, i.e. Ikradon reserves the right to use absolutely any weapon for the defence of its people. |
