The party represents the Valgrivan minority in Dolgava and claims to defend the interests of the Valgrivan rural population. The VML espouses ideals of traditional conservatism, ruralism, agrarianism, regionalism and Valgrivan cultural nationalism. The party also supports populism and egalitarianism, it is socially conservative and economically centrist. The VML was founded in 4819 by Valgrivan farmers and small rural business owners, with the objective of representing the Valgrivan minority.
