Description[?]:
The Secular Progressive Party's platform stands represents the peopled interests of all Baltusian citizens. Its platform rests on the ideals and pursuits for separation of government influence by religious institutions and vice versa; an emphasis of consumer buying power on the working and middle classes, including a minimum living work wage, progressive taxation of income, and the workers' right to negotiate collectively with employers; as well as a media free of government intervention. It also supports campaign reform to eliminate corporate and moneyed interests from interfering in the elective process. No corporation or private interest should hold undue sway over the workings of government, lest it interfere with the greater pursuit of the common good. The Secular Progressive Party believes in a robust free market, but also supports government mechanisms to provide for economic social welfare, environmental responsibility, and prevention of monopolistic business entities. |

Random fact: Any RP law granting extraordinary "emergency powers" or dictator-like powers to a government must be passed by at least a 2/3rds majority, but (like all RP laws) may always be overturned by a simple majority vote of the legislature. |
