Description[?]:
The United Liberty Socialist Freedom Party of Kalistan, United Party for short, founded in 2757, is a political party devoted to the causes of democratic socialism, social democracy, ecological socialism, and libertarian socialism. We support leaving the government out of many affairs that interfere with the religion, race, gender attraction, and recreational life of the citizens of Kalistan. Our party is, however, commited to the belief that all people are equal and must enjoy liberty. We support the transition of the control of industry from the capitalist owner to the noble workers, and the transition of industry into an environmental, sustainable development one. We support pollution controls on dirty industry, strengthening of trade unions, tax cuts for the poor and tax increases for the rich. It is our belief that inheritance tax should be introduced and increased for the wealthy to level the playing field for all citizens, regardless of the wealth of their relatives. We support free healthcare and basic education. As pacifists, we are opposed to pre-entive strikes. People of Kalistan, Unite! In addition, we loosely support the idea of devolution to the regions of Kalistan. We see our selves as strong environmentalists, but willing to compromose. We believe in the regulation of markets; we believe it is vital. We are a secular political party, and morally progressive. In short, our basic platform is: -free health care for all -fair redistribution of wealth -sustainable development -increased market regulation -encouragement of worldwide peace -increased international cooperation -job security -small-scale devolution to the regions -increase in progressive moral policies -smaller government -a more secular society -increased civil rights -expansion of welfare Our Motto is: "Civil Liberty, Social Equality, Environmental Tranquility and Economic Emancipation For All, By All." History The United Party grew out of unions of workers that joined up with environmental activists in the early 2700s. The leadership of many of these councils decided to meet in 2750 to unite all of these councils, soviets, and think tanks. Libertarians and Anarchists then started to gain more influence as the party attempted to widen its base. In 2757, one of these, User Somerled, self-described disciple of Noam Chomsky, launched the Socialist Party, at the time called by its formal name, the United Liberty Socialist Freedom Council Party. It was then that the party gained its national appeal. Somerled chairs the national United Party board to this day. The party renamed itself the United party in early 2761, after successful elections. We are now under the De Facto leadership of Cameron Al'Lister, with help from his brothers Rory and William, and cousin Allister Al'Lister. Random fact: Players who consent to a particular role-play by acknowledging it in their own role-play cannot then disown it or withdraw their consent from it. For example, if player A role-plays the assassination of player B's character, and player B then acknowledges the assassination in a news post, but then backtracks and insists the assassination did not happen, then he will be required under the rules to accept the validity of the assassination role-play. |
