Description[?]:
"United for peace, justice, and the common good." The Rutanian Social Democratic Party is committed to the people's representation toward greater freedom, social justice, equality, sustainability, and solidarity. The RSDP seeks to represent the people of Rutania from the conviction that everyone has the right to a decent life with the protection of civil liberties and the freedom to pursue. Provision of opportunities, distribution of power and income, and investment in knowledge are all necessary ingredients if people are to make the best of themselves. This entails constant choices: weighing the freedoms of one against the freedoms of another, rights against duties, freedom against limitation, and social justice against oppressive injsutice. In an open economy, effective redistribution is a difficult task. This is no excuse for abandoning ambitions; however aims must be formulated clearly. The unshakable conviction that all people are equal results in a plea for the right to a decent life. At the very minimum, everyone is entitled to a level of social security, which enables him or her to participate fully in society. These 9 core goals of the RSDP represent the center of our convictional framework from which we desire to govern, and sets our party apart from the competition: 1. Progressive fiscal policies that seeks the common good and protects the whole of Rutania from economic inequality. 2. Sustainable development that seeks to grow and evolve in harmony with the environment within which Rutania inhabits. 3. Peace, security, and human rights together in one pursuit of a nation of nonviolence and mutual respect. 4. Freedom of religion and creed for all persons. 5. Equality of Rutanian persons no matter their religion, gender, physical, mental, or emotional abilities, sexual orientation, or accomplishments. 6. Separation of church and state as a reciprocal conviction that protects both institutions from each other. 7. Education, training, and the advancement of creativity and innovation are the life forces of social-democratic aspiration. 8. The pursuit of full labour and employment for all Rutanians is a central, but not authoritatively, pursued. 9. Public services and welfare that excel in accessibility irrespective of income or ability, consisting of quality and reciprocity. Government is responsible for this; it is a matter of principle. Who supplies these services is not a matter of principle. If the market can do it better, the market should supply public services. If government can do it better, government should do so. Life, however, is not just a continuous price comparison. The public should be able to weigh freedom of choice against security. The certainty of high-quality (public) services is also a greater good, which may be more appreciated than the ability to repeatedly make individual choices. Restraint is required in marketing public services. Random fact: Any RP law granting extraordinary "emergency powers" or dictator-like powers to a government must be passed by at least a 2/3rds majority, but (like all RP laws) may always be overturned by a simple majority vote of the legislature. |
Random quote: "A strong body makes the mind strong. As to the species of exercises, I advise the gun. While this gives moderate exercise to the body, it gives boldness, enterprise and independence to the mind. Games played with the ball, and others of that nature, are too violent for the body and stamp no character on the mind. Let your gun therefore be your constant companion of your walks." - Thomas Jefferson |
