The Radical party exists to promote liberalism & republican values of equality, secularism, democracy & order. Leadership & History: 3304-07 Party President & Chair of the Party Congress: Tobias Barrett Deputy-Chair of the Party Congress & Chair of the Party's Committee on Strategy & Political Affairs: Philip Helgren The Party was founded in response to a pamphlet by independent journalist Tobias Barrett, in which he called for a new party to reinvigorate Aldegarian liberal republicanism & fealty to the constitution. He was approached by Philip Helgren, a former secretary of a People's Party neighbourhood-branch in Aldegaria, with a view to making the party a reality. They co-founded the party 2 months later. 3307-09 Party President: Prime Minister Philip Helgren Chair of the Party Congress: Tobias Barrett Deputy-Chair of the Party Congress: Finance Minister Nelson Hughley Chair of the Committee on Strategy & Political Affairs: Katherine Penniman In the wake of the party's immense success in the parliamentary election of 3306 & Mr. Barrett's failure to match that performance in the presidential election of the same year, it was decided that he should step aside & allow the newly elected Prime Minister Helgren to lead the party, thus providing a the party with a clear leader. 3309- Party President: Prime Minister Philip Helgren Chair of the Party Congress: Finance Minister Nelson Hughley Deputy Chair of the Party Congress & Chair of the Committee on Strategy & Political Affairs: Katherine Penniman Subsequent to Mr. Barrett's successful election to the Presidency, it was felt that he should resign his party-office, in order to maintain the dignity of his new state-office. Random fact: By default the head of government is the ultimate authority within a national government. In general terms, heads of government are expected to consult with cabinet colleagues (including those from other parties) before making significant decisions but they remain responsible for government action. |
Random quote: "The moral justification of capitalism does not lie in the altruist claim that it represents the best way to achieve 'the common good.' It is true that capitalism does, if that catch-phrase has any meaning, but this is merely a secondary consequence. The moral justification for capitalism lies in the fact that it is the only system consonant with man's rational nature, that it protects man's survival qua man, and that its ruling principle is justice." - Ayn Rand |
