Description[?]:
We are the National Peasants' Party. Our position is very simple: those who till the land are entitled to the fruits of their labour. Core Ideology: Agrarian populist constitutional monarchism We support: -An agrarian society, with peasant proprietorship -Free exercise of judgement in matters of personal health and enjoyment -Faith in almighty Boh, who makes the grass the mountains crown and corn in valleys grow -Class collaboration; distributism; social corporatism -State assistance for the poor, widows, and orphans -The protection of Kizenian language and culture -Armed neutrality We oppose: -Whiteshirted technocracy -Predatory capitalism -Leonidism -Excessive prudery Party Profile: The PNŢ is first and foremost a party of rural peasants. They may be small farmers, families or cooperatives, or somewhat more prosperous farmers who employ a limited number of agricultural labourers; these labourers, too, are among the party' constituency.. Outsiders often have the impression that they are made up of nought but earth, salt, and fire. They are not easily embarrassed, and they have a natural attitude towards the facts of life and the pleasures in which one may indulge. The Church encourages them to keep this within reason, but morality is largely held to be a matter dealt with through the force of mores rather than legislation. The distinctly peasant attitude is one of personal responsibility and natural consequences. The PNŢ is not one for aristocratic or bourgeois privilege, e.g. private forests, rivers, or roads. One should be free to take what is needed, so long as this does not deprive others of what they need. The priority in policy goes to those who struggle for the most basic dignity of life and labour. The PNŢ is also a party animated by religious convictions, though in a very distinctive way. The party is a hotbed of iconoclastic preachers who stir up controversy with their prophet-style inveighing against cultural materialism and exploitation of the poor by the rich. They often make rhetorical calls for justice and compassion. They largely conform to Patriarchal Church traditions, though there are rumours abroad that they are discreetly agitating for greater autonomy for individual parishes. It remains to be seen to what extent the upper echelons of the Church hierarchy will welcome or at least tolerate this phenomenon of fervour for the social aspect of Hosian teachings. |

Random fact: Cabinet ministers who disagree seriously with the head of government would usually be expected to resign. Parties within the cabinet may attempt to manoeuvre to replace the head of government though, for example by proposing a new cabinet bill or voting for an early election. |
