Details
Nation[?]: United States of Baltusia (Baltusia)
Seats[?] in Congress of the United States[?]: 0
Color[?]:
Description[?]:
A progressive party which believes in individual rights and freedoms, given a good base by a firm state. The Democratic Socialists are the oldest party in Baltusia, the party of Baltusia's inaugoral President, Alice Rootian, and that of the first two female Presidents of Baltusia. To mark the hundreth year in existence, the Democratic Socialists (commonly abbrieviated to Dem Socs) returned to their roots; for forty years, they had been known as the New Democrats, but in this time they had not won a single election, and the party ideology had grown stale and confused. The party seized advantage of the centenary to return to the image they had held when Baltusia turned to Democracy, in the hopes that they would once more be among the most powerful parties in the nation. |

Random fact: In Culturally Protected nations, special care must be taken to ensure realism is maintained when role-playing a government controlled by an ethnic and/or religious minority. If it is to be supposed that this government is supported by a majority of the population, then this should be plausibly and sufficiently role-played. The burden of proof is on the player or players role-playing such a regime to demonstrate that it is being done realistically |
Random quote: "Those who are responsible for the national security must be the sole judges of what the national security requires. It would be obviously undesirable that such matters should be made the subject of evidence in a court of law or otherwise discussed in public." - Unattributed member of the the House of Lords on the removal of trade union rights |
