Deltarian-Trigunian Friendship and Trade Agreement (Revised)

| The Republic of Deltaria, the successor states thereof, the Trigunian Federation, and the successor states thereof voluntarily enter into this treaty concerning of friendship and trade. This treaty is for the purpose of strengthening relations between the two signatory parties. ARTICLE I - COMMUNICATIOn The two ratifying parties recognize and acknowledge that regular communication is important to building trust and friendship between nation-states. To that end, both governments agree to consult regularly with their partner and open clear channels of communication for exchange of information. ARTICLE II - RELATIONS There shall be a regular exchange of ambassadors and staff between the Republic of Deltaria and the Trigunian Federation. Embassies will be established according to respective host country laws and provisions including diplomatic immunity; in addition, local Consulates will be established where desirable. ARTICLE III - FREE TRADE There shall be free and unhindered trade between the nations of the Republic of Deltaria and the Federation of Trigunia. The governments of neither nation shall attempt to establish tariffs, quotas, or taxes on any imports or exports that flow between them, except in extraordinary circumstances and with the express consent of both parties. By default, this article covers all economic activity, including goods, services, and labor specifically including but not limited to agricultural products, household appliances, pharmaceutical and other medical products, electronic equipment and commercial air flights. The national governments of the Republic of Deltaria and the Trigunian Federation may choose to exclude particular industries in order to protect their economic position but this should only be done after notifying the partner government and with good reason. No such industries have been identified at the time of ratification. ARTICLE IV - NON-AGGRESSION The Republic of Deltaria and the Trigunian Federation agree that the currently existing territorial boundaries of each are legitimate and accurate and will respect them as such. Further, both states pledge non aggression toward each other. ARTICLE V - FURTHER COOPERATION The Republic of Deltaria and the Trigunian Federation recognize that continued cooperation and friendship is desirable. As such, both governments commit to re-evaluating this arrangement at regular intervals in an attempt to deepen the ties between the two states. ARTICLE VI - INTELLIGENCE SHARING The Republic of Deltaria and the Trigunian Federation will share intelligence concerning those nations and international entities identified as a possible threat to their national interests. This will be achieved by the interface of the intelligence services of the parties hereto. ARTICLE VII - CRUDE OIL TRADE The Republic of Deltaria shall purchase from the Trigunian Federation seven hundred and fifty million (750,000,000) barrels of crude oil per annum. Payment shall be made when delivered, and the price shall be the market price when delivered. It is understood that sales on the part of the Trigunian Federation may well consist of its government arranging for delivery of the crude oil in question by privatized or partially privatized enterprises. ARTICLE VIII - NATURAL GAS TRADE The Republic of Deltaria shall buy from the Trigunian Federation one trillion (1,000,000,000,000) cubic feet of natural gas per annum. Payment shall be made when delivered, and the price shall be the market price when delivered. It is understood that sales on the part of the Trigunian Federation may well consist of its government arranging for delivery of the crude oil in question by privatized or partially privatized enterprises. ARTICLE IX - WITHDRAWAL Should either party decide to withdraw from this treaty, six months' notice shall be given by the withdrawing party. All transactions, whether concerning purchases of goods or services or investing in business operations completed prior to such notice, shall be considered valid and continue in effect. |
