Aldegar-Lodamun Comprehensive Agreement on Security Cooperation

| This memorandum reaffirms the common interest of friendship and cooperation between Aldegar and Lodamun and serves as the foundation for future cooperative agreements between both states on matters related to defence. Article 1 As herein established, this agreement shall act (in lieu of a stronger partnership) as the basic framework upon which cooperation on matters related to defence and security cooperation between Aldegar is built, thus this agreement herein stands as a Lodamese guarantee on Aldegar's security. Article 2 Both nations herein reaffirm their commitment to respect the sovereign wishes of the other and thus also reaffirm their recognition of the sovereign territory of the other. In so doing, either may call upon the other to aid in their defence. Article 3 Cooperation between the signatory nations shall include security cooperation exercises, the exchange of military personnel and training regimens, the sharing of information/intelligence, collaboration on defence research, the provision of military aid, humanitarian assistance and/or any other activities as may be agreed upon by both nations. Security Cooperation, Information Sharing and Technical Assistance Article 4 For the purposes of this agreement, the Commonwealth of Lodamun (and its successor states) herein agrees to provide military aid and technical assistance from the Aldegarian People's Free Federation (and its successor states), including but not limited to equipment, training and financial support, based on the request of the government of Aldegar and following the approval of the Lodamese Department of State. Article 5 Both nations agree to establish a joint mechanism, based on the information-sharing regime as set out by the Common Intelligence Sharing Agreement (see here:) and thus commit to prevent the sharing of information gained via collaborative work with third-party entities. Article 6 Both nations agree to establish a consortium for the purpose of joint defence technology development and transfer, which shall be populated by experts in their respective fields in matters related to advanced defence technology. Basing Agreement and Authorisation Article 7 Aldegar (and its successor states) herein grant Lodamun (and its successor states) the right to establish, operate and maintain a permanent naval air station within its territory. For the purposes of this agreement this "Naval Air Station" shall include facilities such as a port for berthing ships, an airbase for hosting aerial assets and a medium-sized barracks for hosting the crews of the vessels and aircraft who may frequent said installation. Article 8 Lodamun herein commits to pay an annual fee (or rent) to the Aldegar Government beginning at 1.4 billion LOD (701 million LFR / 2.4 billion ACR) as due compensation for the installation's existence and the opportunity cost incurred therein. Article 9 Pursuant to Article 2, Lodamun herein agreed to adhere to the wishes of the government of Aldegar should its policy/appetite for Articles 8 to 9 change. Article 10 This Agreement shall come into force upon ratification through normal procedures of both nation's respective legislatures. It shall go out of force when only one signatory remains in the agreement. |
