Bill: CUF Manifesto (Administrative)
Details
Submitted by[?]: Revolucia Partio de Koburo
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: September 2542
Description[?]:
1. Cobura needs a national anthem that expresses unity above all, and one which eliminates the last dregs of our Tokundi dominated past. The CUF anthem performs the job admirably. 2. There is no need for two weak positions, especially when the elected position has no real power. Cobura needs a strong, elected leader. 3. A new flag to encompass our strength and history. 4. In recognition of Cobura's glorious history, we propose to bring back the position of Pro-Consul, which will hold the executive power in Cobura. 5. A new name for our assembly, in an effort to express national unity. 6. Mayoral positions are inherently corrupt and bourgeois; the municipal (workers) councils will do a better job of governing our cities. 7. Cobura needs a strong animal to represent itself. |
Proposals
Article 1
Proposal[?] to change The lyrics of the national anthem.
Old value:: Risen from the Ruins Risen from the ruins and faced towards the future, Let us serve you for the good, Cobura, united motherland. Old woes we will have to conquer, and, united, so we shall, For it lays within our power that the sun, beautiful as never before, Shines over Cobura. (bis) Happiness and peace be granted Cobura, our motherland. All the world now longs for peace, so go forth and extend your hand. When as brothers we unite, we defeat the people´s foe. Let it shine, the light of Peace! so that no mother again must Mourn her son. (bis) Let us plough, let us build, learn and work as never before, And, in confidence and strength, a free generation will come forth. Coburian youth, the best endeavor of our people combined in you, You will give Cobura new life. Then may the sun, more beautiful than ever Shine over Cobura. (bis)
Current:
The Triumph of Lord Psentkeri the Great When my Menna, charioteer, beheld in his dismay, How the horses swarmed around us, lo! his courage fled away, And terror and affright Took possession of him quite; "Gracious lord and bravest king, savior-guard Of Cobura, in the battle, be our ward; Behold we stand alone, in the hostile Celtoric ring, Save for us the breath of life, Give deliverance from the strife, Oh! save us, mighty Lord!" "Halt! take courage, charioteer As a sparrow-hawk swoops down upon his prey, So I swoop upon the foe, and I will slay, I will hew them into pieces, I will dash them into dust; Have no fear, Cast such evil thought away, These godless men are wretches that in Ajore put no trust." Then the Lord, he hurried forward, on the Celtoric host he flew, "For the sixth time that I charged them," says the king---and listen well, "Like Noshep in his strength, on their rearward, lo! I fell, And I killed them, none escaped me, and I slew, and slew, and slew." |
Proposed:
As man is only human, He must eat before he can think. Fine words are only empty air and not his meat and drink. Then, Left! Right! Left! Then, Left! Right! Left! There`s a place, Comrade for you, March with us in the Coburan united front; For you are a Coburan too. As man is only human, He`d rather not have boots in face. He wants no slaves at his beck and call, Nor life by a masters`s grace. Then, Left! Right! Left! Then, Left! Right! Left! There`s a place, Comrade for you, March with us in the Coburan` united front; For you are a Coburan too. And since a worker`s a worker, No class can free him but his own; ‘The emancipation of the working- class Is the task of the workers alone.’ Then, Left! Right! Left! Then, Left! Right! Left! There`s a place, Comrade for you, March with us in the Coburan` united front; For you are a Coburan too. |

Our parliamentary system works fine and has kept Cobura strong and democratic, the Chancellor is elected by the parliament, which is elected by the people. It works fine in many other countires, and does so here too." Simon Brimmer, DLP Consitutional and Devoltuion spokesman. |

Message | maybe the tiger should be in the lower left corner as the raven is in our old flag (and change the black "line" to go from upper ledt corner to lower right corner.) and the tigers head looks odd....but otherwise would vote for it totally :) |
