Bill: Unity Cabinet - Prime Minister
Details
Submitted by[?]: Movement for Democratic Change
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This bill presents the formation of a cabinet. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. Traditionally, parties in the proposal vote yes, others (the opposition) vote no. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in and all parties in the proposal have voted yes, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline.
Voting deadline: June 2599
Description[?]:
The Kirlawan people have been without a Prime Minister for several years now, and the MDC has decided to step up to the plate. The only changes this cabinet makes are installing an MDC Prime Minister whilst also transfering an MDC post to another party. We urge immediate passage by all members of the Unity Cabinet. |

Date | 07:26:16, June 29, 2008 CET | From | Gluaiseacht Shaoráil DhaonlathachIt | To | Debating the Unity Cabinet - Prime Minister |
Message | Why are the socialists and anti-fascist DSP so eager to join a cabinet which includes a fascist party ? Don't you think you'll betray your electorate like the KDL did ? |

Message | Because some people are willing to work with others even if you have conflicting views. It's called politics. |

Message | It's called politics, sure. Within reason, the DFM does compromise once and a while. However, we will never join a cabinet with fascist parties due to the fact that they stand totally opposite our points of view and ideals. Sometimes you must stand with your principles. Our electorate expects us to do so by rejecting fascist believes. The DFM doesn't compromise on that ! That's called politics too, FFK. |

Message | Of course, we are anti-fascist, but any party which wanyd to work with us to achieve our goal of a secular, free, and equal society is welcome to do so. We work with many parties we share little in common with. However, I would not have wanted to join this cabinet if the FFK had the HOG position. Then, we would have a Hitlerite situation on our hands. |

Message | If this cabinet fails due to the failure of KDL to vote before the deadline, the MDC will propose it again. |

Message | We request that the AFP -- who have voted in favor of this cabinet -- be considered for a ministry in such a cabinet re-proposal. Although currently holding no seats, AFP will certainly be obtaining some in the upcoming election. Defence would be the most obvious choice; except that that would leave FFK, Kirlawa's largest party, with too few ministries. Maybe Trade&Industry? |

Message | May be the KDL had second thoughts..... May be they remembered just in time that they are a member of the (international) Anti-Fascist Front ( http://80.237.164.51/particracy/main/vieworganization.php?organizationid=61 ) and Kirlawan Anti-Fascist Alliance ( http://80.237.164.51/particracy/main/vieworganization.php?organizationid=706 ). |

Random fact: Don't vote yes on a cabinet coalition that doesn't give you the power that you deserve. |
Random quote: "The problem is big government. If whoever controls government can impose his way upon you, you have to fight constantly to prevent the control from being harmful. With small, limited government, it doesn't much matter who controls it, because it can't do you much harm." - Harry Browne |
