Kirlawa Into the breaking day Together, under freedom Our light will show the way
Current:
Awake! Kirlawa, Rise from field and street, With strength and valour, Get the people to their feet. Unite! Kirlawa, We know we have the means, Our hearts and minds together, Bind them with our dreams. Arise! Kirlawa, The fascist cannot win, The people are united, Our nation lies within. Advance! Kirlawa, Into the breaking day, Together, under freedom, Our light will show the way. |
Proposed:
O Land of Beauty! Our country where peace abounds, Thy children stand free On the strength of will and love. With a higher power behind us Kirlawa will be A nation bound together, With a common destiny. As stalwarts we stand For justice and liberty. With wisdom and truth We will serve and honour thee. No sword nor spear can conquer For we wil surely defend. His blessings shall forever To posterity extend. |

Message | Excellent, with the references to god no longer in the anthem, we can support. |
Date | 22:55:08, July 02, 2008 CET | From | Gluaiseacht Shaoráil DhaonlathachIt | To | Debating the Revised Anthem Amendment |
Message | "His blessings...." isn't referring to God or a God ? To us, it seems that you've been deceived, DSP. |
Date | 23:21:24, July 02, 2008 CET | From | Movement for Democratic Change | To | Debating the Revised Anthem Amendment |
Message | The point of the changes was to leave the religous connotations open to interpretation, which they still do. May we also advise the DFM that unfounded accusations levied against either ours or any other party will NOT go unnoticed. |

Message | Well, his blessings is pushing it, but in the interest of comprimise, we let it slide. I mean, who's blessings are being talked about here? Not necessarily god's blessings. It could be the blessings of a great leader. |
Date | 23:29:50, July 02, 2008 CET | From | Kirlawan National Party (Leftists) | To | Debating the Revised Anthem Amendment |
Message | This anthem is a middle way. We are not allowing the MDC to get away with anything. They gave some, we gave some. Our ultimate goal was to ensure the anthem was open to interpretation, and this is what has happened. |
Date | 06:28:42, July 03, 2008 CET | From | Gluaiseacht Shaoráil DhaonlathachIt | To | Debating the Revised Anthem Amendment |
Message | May we advice the MDC to respect our democratic right to say what we believe and to fight against this very disappointing proposal which ignores our history. |
Date | 13:01:35, July 03, 2008 CET | From | Movement for Democratic Change | To | Debating the Revised Anthem Amendment |
Message | Fighting for your beliefs, which the MDC totally respects, is one thing. Making near slanderous remarks about another party is another. You're previous statement made it sound as if you believe the MDC intentionally misled the DSP, tricked the DSP, into supporting this measure. That is not the case, as has already been confirmed by the DSP. Yet, you stand by your remarks. |
Date | 18:05:11, July 03, 2008 CET | From | Kirlawan National Party (Leftists) | To | Debating the Revised Anthem Amendment |
Message | Indeed, it is one thing to attack the policies and plans of a party, another thing entirely to attack its character. We ask for the DFM to apoligise for these remarkds. |
Date | 20:08:00, July 03, 2008 CET | From | Gluaiseacht Shaoráil DhaonlathachIt | To | Debating the Revised Anthem Amendment |
Message | We will not. We see no reason at all to change our comment because it reflects our point of view and feelings. May be you do not like it but so it is. |
