Bill: Freedom of Religious Organizations Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: Rutanian Democratic Forum

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: April 2641

Description[?]:

"This is a proposal to establish clear legislation for religious communities in Rutania. All religious communities in Rutania should be registered, and there should be only two main criteria for registration:

- concordance with Constitution of Rutania and legislature of Commonwealth and Regional Commonwealths
- membership of at least 100 people

This criteria ensure that recognized and registered religious communities enjoy all rights of religious freedom in Rutania, but also to ensure their social responsibility and to regulate their position in society.

Among recognized religious communities, there are:

- Catholic Church
- Evangelical Church
- Reformed Evangelical Church
- Presbyterian Church
- Episcopalian Church
- Judaism
- Islam
- Confucianism
- Church of Rutania (protestant- catholic)

and other, which apply for registration. Registration is automatic and approved immediately, if two criteria above are satisfied. "

Vice president of RDF

Reactions from religious leaders:

James Cardinal Rothmann, Archbishop of Bozarburg (catholic)
"I think that this legislature is good, because we need some regulation to ensure proper position of all recognized religious communities in Rutania."

Paul Worck, bishop of Wellington (Church of Rutania)
"This is a good legislation, but we must be careful in recognizing religious communities that are foreign to our Rutanian mentality."

Esekiel Jarri, Grand Rabbi of Rutania
"I greet this proposal."

William Hars, president of Confederation of Religious Communities in Rutania
"This proposal is good, but at the first place is religious freedom. So, every religious community that does not hold values against the constitution must be recognized - wtih no exceptions."

MessageBut every citizen is free to choose whose religion shall he belong, or shall he even belong to some kind of religious community. This bill only defines which religious communities are not against the constitution - and therefore dangerous for society, because that's not free religion then, it's terrorism against citizens of the state.

MessageWe have nothing to lose in supporting this bill. This legislation will give Rutanians more awareness of the Confucian philosophy...which has not only been popular among just only the Asiatic-Rutanians...but also among white Rutanians as well.

Confucians in Rutania have been very flexible in adopting and melting in to Rutanian culture while at the same time adding the rich culture of the Asians to the diversity of Rutania. The Confucian League has made considerable strides in creating better race-relations between Asians and non-Asians.

One must keep in mind that Confucians in Rutania have blended their beliefs to Christian, Islamic, Taoist, ext faiths. There a Confucian-Christians in our party, such as the Catholic Yeung family, the Presbyterian Michael Zheng and Muslim Dawud Al-Sini. Many of the Confucians still follow their age old celestial and taoic traditions as well.

Long story short, we must be supportive of creating reasonable dialogue between our philosophical religion and the state.

We agree

-White Rutanian Teacher of the Confucius Academy in Imbriety, Delvar.
