Bill: Minimum Wage Reform Bill
Details
Submitted by[?]: National Conservative Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: October 2125
Description[?]:
The NCP believes that the minimum, well necessary, should not be so high as to force small businesses out of the marketplace. It needs to be a realistic amount that provides the worker with an adequate wage bill to survive upon but also allow businesses to keep their costs down and keep themselves competitive. Therefore we propose a change in the minimum wage law to reflect these beliefs. |
Proposals

Message | Small businesses typically hire part-time workers, so they can largely get around the living wage rule. The cost of labor rarely is a make or break issue for small businesses. Generally, high labor costs only affect labor intensive industries, which we should be looking towards replacing with capital intensive industries anyway. |

Message | We're glad the Conservative Party is pioneering a lower standard of living for all Ikradonians. It's truly touching. |

Message | Reducing the minimum wage does not mean a lower standard of living. It means small businesses can afford to hire more people. We are pioneering a modern capitalist market economy where everyone who wants to work can find work. Maybe the PEP would prefer a socialist paradise of unemployed state spongers but the NCP does not. |
