Bill: Pretender Coup

Details

Submitted by[?]: Vonkajšíci

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: May 2715

Description[?]:

On passage of this bill Deltaria will abandon her Imperial trappings, and the formal styling of the nation will be "Deltárske Knyažestvo"

On passage of this bill the deposed Czár Ladislav will be exiled from the land as punishment for his inability to rule ; he will be afforded a modest pension. The revolutionaries who usurped his power, including the nameless 'Queen' will be found guilty of high treason and roasted alive on coals. All legislature, diplomatic overtures and othersuch actions made by the illegitimate usurpers will be retroactively outlawed. All persons who broke Czarist laws after they were rescinded by the revolutionaries will be fully and utterly culpable for their actions, and will face prosecution in a court of law. Any colonial governments who accepted the illegal cessation of their colonies will be found in breach of Deltarian law and hanged, and their lands returned to the suzereignty of Deltaria, at gunpoint if neccessary.

On passage of this bill it will be assumed that the Pretender to the Throne, Svyatopolk Sava (Svyatopolk the Bastard) will have gained enough support to assume power as Prince of Deltaria, in the absence of a valid Lineykovska heir. As Svyatopolk's ancestry is connected to the Lineykov dynasty by a recognised, but illegitimate birth, a request to recognise him as the rightful Prince of Deltaria will be lodged with the International Monarchist League.

MessageHis Imperial Majesty, Archduke Konstantin (soon to be Emperor Heinrich II of Hulstria) would like to lay claim on the Deltarian Throne by right of his wife Andela, daughter of Czar Ladislav I. If the Deltarian Boyars recognize this claim, he is willing to enter into negotiations as to exactly who from the House of Rothingren-Traugott would assume the family's claim. He does this as both the future Emperor of Hulstria and as the future Margrave of Hradec Kralove.

MessageOOC ; I generally support the idea of having several pretenders with weak claims to the throne duking it out with assassinations and intrigues. Being married to Ladislav's daughter is a little too weak, however, and one of Konstantin's sons (borne by Adela) would be a far more valid choice. Here are some ideas for weak pretender claims...

1.) Descended from the Czarist line as a recognised bastard
2.) Traces inheritence through a woman from the Czarist line
3.) Willed the throne by Ladislav after he was deposed
4.) Willed the throne by the Pope (divine right to rule, etc.)
5.) Indentity theft of a semi-legimitate claimant (ie. the four False Dmitri's)
6.) Legitimate heir to a Deltarian dynasty pre-dating the Lineykovs
7.) Forged geneology records and a private army

MessageOOC: As I've said, I'd planned to make the claimant Konstantin's younger grandson. Sorry for the confusion, I made the claim through Konstantin because thats what Western European Royal would have done, I never really intended for him to assume the throne, if his claim was accepted.

MessageOOC ; The most solid claim would be Konstantin's eldest son by Adela (if he's alive), who could then abdicate the throne to his younger son.

MessageVojvoda Premysl Cvetkov will also lay claim to the Deltarian throne. He is related through his mother, Otokar Cvetkov's wife Elena Antonescu, to the Antonescu dynasty, and through the Antonescu dynasty to the Lineykov dynasty (OOC: I assume that all of the old dynasties were heavily intermarried).

Random fact: Players have a responsibility to differentiate between OOC (out-of-character) and IC (in-character) behaviour, and to make clear when they are communicating in OOC or IC terms. Since Particracy is a role-playing game, IC excesses are generally fine, but OOC attacks are not. However, players must not presume this convention permits them to harass a player with IC remarks that have a clear OOC context.
