Bill: KPF Renewal Bill 1C: Science

Details

Submitted by[?]: Kirlawan Popular Front

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: December 2741

Description[?]:

It is proper to restrict to a degree what can be done in the pursuit of progress. Before embarking on experiments that involve using animals or cloning technology, safeguards should be in place.

We recognise that whaling can have a place in scientific research, but not as a means of fishing - all species of whale are 'vulnerable', and some are 'endangered'.

MessageThis will hurt our coastal communities and stifle progress. And you call yourself a 'progressive' when you pass these anti-progress laws?

MessageWhen did we call ourselves 'progressive'? We are a populist socialist movement. People are a bit uncomfortable with unregulated scientific research into cloning, easy use of fluffy bunnies in experiments, and the hunting down of whales for profit.

That the KNP needs to buy the votes of the coastal communities is another matter.

Random fact: It is not allowed to call more than 5 elections in 5 game years in a nation. The default sanction for a player persisting in the early election tactic will be a seat reset.

Random quote: "Blah blah blah- I'm more of a Leftist than all you puppets... You support cops beating people down and kicking out all the foreigners..." - Omar al-Khali, former Kalistani politician
