Bill: Discussion of our Hymn
Details
Submitted by[?]: Antónios Anthropophagus Collective
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: December 2915
Description[?]:
We hope that the other parties share our disdain of "Dancing Queen" as our hymn. If that is indeed so, we would like to hear proposals, how our new hymn could be. (OOC: It would be especially nice, if there was someone who can speak Greek, so that we can have it in "authentic" language and writing) |
Proposals
Article 1
Proposal[?] to change The lyrics of the national anthem.
Old value:: Friday night and the lights are low Looking out for the place to go Where they play the right music, getting in the swing You come in to look for a king Anybody could be that gay Night is young and the music's high With a bit of rock music, everything is fine You're in the mood for a dance And when you get the chance... You are the dancing queen, young and sweet, only seventeen Dancing queen, feel the beat from the tambourine You can dance, you can jive, having the time of your life See that girl, watch that scene, dig in the dancing queen You're a teaser, you turn 'em on Leave them burning and then you're gone Looking out for another, anyone will do You're in the mood for a dance And when you get the chance... You are the dancing queen, young and sweet, only seventeen Dancing queen, feel the beat from the tambourine You can dance, you can jive, having the time of your life See that girl, watch that scene, dig in the dancing queen
Current:
Νίκη και Ελευθερία - Victory and Freedom Kalopian: Θνητοί! Luthorian: Mortals! Listen to the sacred cry: "Freedom, freedom, freedom!" Listen to the sound of broken chains, The big hearts of the world They have now opened their honored throne. And the free people of the world answer: "We greet the great people of Kalopia!" "We greet the great people of Kalopia!" Victory covered the Kalopian warrior With its beautiful wings, And the tyrant is ashamed in this respect with defamation left, And above the wings of glory the people rise The worthy throne of their great majesty. |
Proposed:

Message | "Se gnoriso apo tin kopsi. Tou spathiou tin tromeri, Se gnoriso apo tin opsi Pou me via metra tin yi. Ap' ta kokala vialmeni Ton Ellinon ta iera, Ke san prota andriomeni, Haire, o haire, Kalopiki!" (OCC: True, web translators can only get you so far. This is the greek national anthem, it mostly talks about divinely restored swords and prevailing valour, all pretty apolitical stuff. I have edited the last line so that it should read "Hail Kalopia Hail" instead of "Hail Liberty Hail") |

Message | If you could do it in a Greek font it would be perfect, but if that is not easily possible for you, it is still infinitely better than Dancing Queen in Latin. |
