Bill: Budget proposal of May 2944

Details

Submitted by[?]: Republican Party of Aloria (DemCoa)

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill proposes to change the allocation of funds in the budget. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline.

Voting deadline: July 2945

Description[?]:

The Republican Party of Aloria propose to adjust the government's spending budget to better address the economic and social situation of the Democratic Republic of Aloria.

"As his nominee for Finance Minister, I have taken the initiative to propose the spending cuts the President has promised to the Alorian people. My own ministry's funding ha been increased a quarter so as to more enable our tax agencies to crack down on tax evasion and provide more efficiency to the Alorian people in collecting revenue.

"Meanwhile, Foreign Affairs, and Justice were two ministries that were always overfunded. Given the amount of responsibility delegated to Local governments on the issue of law enforcement, it does not seem prudent that federal funding of justice be almost as high as defense spending. This bill corrects that."

"With these cuts, we add to Infrastructure spending. This ministry has been greatly underfunded, and more federal assistance to local government here will keep our roads, highways, dams, ports, airports, and the country's overall infrastructural integrity in top shape."

"We also add to Science and Technology funding. The President himself requested this, and I agree that this helps keep Aloria on the cutting edge."

"Big cuts are made to HSS, because as the President said, since the state pension plan is now voluntary, not as much funding is required. However, these cuts are not as drastic as previously proposed because though voluntary, the state's program must remain robust and vibrant and well funded. We meet the President halfway here."

"The biggest cuts made are to Trade and Industry. Now that all industry has been denationalized, all that is required in this ministry are the funds to offset tax incentives and subsidies given to private enterprise- which has always been light- trade missions, and an emergency fund for when industries do fail and the government steps in. As industry continues to be privatized, we believe that this ministry can eventually be cut down to 10 Billion."

MessageThis is good, still HSS was given a riase from 100 to 155 if I'm correct with no reasonable reasons.

Justice had incressed spending because of extremist groups that were going on as well as Invetigation the Internal Affiars Minister launched. However, this seams reasonable.

Still think HSS is to high for their were no complaints about the fund before when it was lower.

MessageWell, what would the President recommend? Should a second draft be written, or should this one be put for a vote?

For my own party's part, we do not think Education should be cut and would prefer making no cuts at all to HHS. It would be one thing if we were in a deficit, but to cut spending on our children's education or people's healthcare and pensions too much in order to fund a tax cut runs counter to the values of the Republican Party. We will support doing this to a certain extent, as this seems to be the President's agenda, however.

We also did not want to cut Agriculture, but again, we think this budget makes good compromises. So that's my own party's input. Awaiting the input of other parties.

MessageOk we can leave education as it is until a review later.

HSS it was raised to 155 without any reasons, a lot of things were raised without reasons acctually and not much debate due to the Finance Minister however, will be glad with the new one in placed by your party you are hearing views.

HSS wouldn't be cut just to cut tax cuts however. It would be cut since it was raised without any good reasons and could be run adeqautely how it was before. However we will support this but later the President is going to look for a review on HSS about any future cuts.
