RECOGNIZING the immense human suffering and loss of life that nuclear weapons use could cause; UNDERSTANDING that the supposed effectiveness of deterrence derived from nuclear weapons is gained only by the threat of potential use of such devices; UNDESIROUS of bearing the responsibility or stigma of possession with the intent to use when necessary, nor the attendant implications of the ultimate power that the state would hold over life and death; REENFORCING the international call against nuclear use and possession due to its attendant moral implications; this body heretoafter declares that neither development of nuclear arsenals nor the acquisition or storage of same shall be undertaken, funded, supported, or otherwise facilitated by the Democratic Republic of Ikradon. |
