Bill: Closing of the Drug Loophole
Details
Submitted by[?]: Labour Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: September 3099
Description[?]:
Now, even though people say that cannabis is useful in pain, it is a shame it is a loophole and could be given to anyone. Addicts could pretend that they need cannabis for a remedy however they will just abuse our system and use it for their own benefit. Now even if people are not addicted when a doctor prescribes them a dose of cannabis, if they keep coming back for more or like it so much they get interested in taking it, that would create further problems and would widen to loophole. Also you wouldn't give alcohol to alcoholics, you wouldn't give money to problem gamblers, you wouldn't give a gun to a psychopath and you wouldn't give children to a paedophile, so why should this be any different? |

Article 1
Proposal[?] to change The use of cannabis for medicinal purposes.

Message | Where does it state that? Even if they did a drug addict could apply for one and abuse the system. Like I said you wouldn't give alcohol to an alcoholic, you wouldn't give money to a problem gambler, you wouldn't give a gun to a psychopath and you wouldn't give children to a paedophile! So why should this be different? You tell me. |

Message | How can they just abuse the system? What makes you think they can? Unless you're talking about bribing a doctor, but if that's your argument then even if you make it illegal, they can bribe cops to look away. |
