Message | Child labour should be allow in certain cirucumstances (OOC: like working at McDonalds). And employers should be able to fire workers who go on strike for stupid reasons. Otherwise it will kill the economy when everyone goes on strike because they can. Article 4 is a maybe. DWCs won't work on a massive scale. We would oppose even giving them subsidies. |

Message | Child labour is not working at McDonald's etc. far too many people think it is. Child labour is in 99% (not literally ;P) per cent of the cases involuntary physical work. Children are supposed to play and be educated, not work at factories. Where I live there is a clear line of 16 or something and after you've reached that age you may get yourself some fancy job. Though child labour is just sick. Yeah sure take the neighbours' dogs for a walk but that's not the same thing. Also, when the trade union sections are democratic that will be the clear voice of the workers. How about all of them just creating their own mass-cooperative or anything, that would certainly wreck the economic situation of the pig-dogs, I agree there. Also, DCWs do indeed work many places, perhaps not where you live, but where I live they do. A thing called DE-CENTRALISATION. It works excellently. (Suddenly I got a little interested, where are you from anyway? Just country, of course :) Canada?) |

Message | OOC: I'm from Australia. And when you mean child labour as in factories, yes, we should definitely ban that. But I recall that in a previous bill, it was restricted to work that wasn't strenous or dangerous. And as for unrestrained union workers, well - OOC: In Australia in the late 1990s, the dockworkers were working at an incredibly low rate of efficiency. When the new Prime Minister John Howard came in to smash to dock unions, the efficiency rate tripled. Unrestrained unions means economic collapse - for everyone, not just the rich. |

Message | When the gov't and the unions work side by side (also through a workers' party) it usually turns out great up here. The Labour Party and the National Confederation have a very close relationship and we have a very responsible administration of both. Let's just roleplay we've got that here as well, eh? That way the workers are naturally not unrestrained, but they might have been in 1990s Australian docks, though there I agree with you. Neither do I support unrestrained unions. Also, I didn't know about the different terms when it comes to child labour here as I wasn't here back then. However, there is a difference between fully releasing the claws of the market upon minors, and letting them work voluntarily for relatively small wages. |

Message | In a real economy, this would crash the economy. No doubt about it. |
