Bill: Military Preparedness Act (3346)
Details
Submitted by[?]: al-'Aqrab al-Aswad al-Tahalof
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This bill proposes to change the allocation of funds in the budget. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline.
Voting deadline: January 3347
Description[?]:
The al-'Aqrab al-Aswad al-Tahalof propose to adjust the government's spending budget to better address the economic and social situation of the al-Jumhuriyyah al-Qafuristaniyyah (Kafuristan). Our nation must be prepared to defend itself from any potential aggression by the forces of the Brotherhood. Conditions in the Great Dovani War continue to deteriorate. While it will fail, the Badarans have attempted at a declaration of war against Zardugal, which would totally invalidate the Treaty of Venetium. The Cildanians have also attempted to enter the war, but in the lack of support, have only been able to affirm that they are on the side of Indrala. Kafuristan is surrounded by hostile powers. We must strengthen our military development and expand our air force and navy; and we must strengthen our home defenses (anti-air, missile defense, etc). In the outcome of the Great Majatran War, we have come far from where we were technologically, but we still must improve. We cannot allow another occupation of our sovereign land. Already forces at the Kalopian border are on heightened alert. This stance shall be expanded to include all elements of the Kafuri Armed Forces. Additionally, we will begin full naval patrols of our coast, especially at the northern and western coasts. Patrol units will consist of destroyers and/or submarines, not just simply the coastal patrol crafts. |
