Message | Senators, Believing that more dialogue with the international community will only progress our economy and allow us to take an active role in Majatran affairs, I ask the Imperial Senate to ratify this treaty. - Marcus dan Umbria Minister of Foreign Affairs |

Message | Yes! The SLP has been trying to get this passed for years now, with the KLP blocking it at every turn. This can bring many benefits to the Imperium Selucianum and allow as to have a greater impact on the international stage. |

Message | Statement by the Princeps Senatus: http://forum.particracy.net/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=1585&start=100 We have tried this twice, and both times the Selucians said, with an impressing majority, no to the project.(http://forum.particracy.net/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=1585&start=100) Even if we were entering, there many question marks about this treaty: 1.) We would have to change our economic laws, meaning, that all workers can strike and a massive upbuild of union power through to articel two, section four of his treaty. 2.)We would have to change our immigration laws and the immigration-releated measures (NFC) thanks to article three section five of the treaty. 3.)Are there any treaties which might affect the efficiency of our acting, internationally, so we would have to in fact withdraw from certain treaties. And finally, there is the question whether we would accept, that the most important right of a country should be in fact transfered away from this Senate: the right to declare a war. Dear Senators, we have to consider this thoughtful and with caution in order to achieve the highest possible gain. Princeps Senatus, Mr Gerster |

Message | 1) The treaty does not actually call for us to change any laws to require to join, the human rights council exists to ensure free elections and human rights are upheld- surely we can all agree that human rights are a good thing. 2) For the second point, again the treaty does not require us to change our laws. We allow MEMBER states only 30 days of free travel. We do not need to change any laws 3) I don't see how this treat would be a hinderace to our ability to interact with other nations, but improve our relations with Majatra nations. 4) There is no article in this treaty that strips the Senate's ability to declare war. The treaty calls for non-aggression between MEMBER states (keeping Majatra peaceful, again something we should strive for). |

Message | Princeps Senatus, KLP: Fristly, and I quote the treaty: "and violations of workers rights to strike, or bargin with employers"..... As yet we do not have the the right to strike for everyone and this would have to be changed. Secondly, What is the exact definiton of free travel? Without any security bariers? and finally, can my rght hournable freind assure and profe us, that no current treaty, in which the Imperium is member violates or overlaps with this treaty? And may I say my final words: We would need of course time for ur indurstry to adapt to the free market and therefore a law of transition for the period. Abd of course, we would have to come to the aid of other member satets if they were attacked, and therefore whe choice whether or not to declare war would be taken away. The basic principle must be: Selucian law before Internation law. Gerster. |

Message | My fellow brothers of Majatra, It is good to see ratification of this agreement. By joining the UMN your nation signifies it is willing and able to be a productive and working member of the UMN. To address the concerns of the Conservative Liberal Party the UMN is holding sessions of the Council of Majatra to work out these differences. We are strongly committed to improving human rights in Majatra and that is a key goal of the UMN. As we grow as an organization we need the input of all Majatran nations so as to make our group strong. Do not worry for your national sovereignty as none is seceded and the HR protections are general that every nation may follow. Signed, Jorah Gullimant, former Chair of the Council of Majatra |

Message | Dear Senators, there is also the question whether we really belong to Majatra. We as Selucians and citizens of Selucia are a special people, which is superior to all other nations and we not Majatran, but Selucian. Culturally and historically we do not belong to this continent, there are too big diferences between the old and ancient history and culture of Selucia and the culture of Majatra. I recognize the benefits for Majatra in case we enter, but we should consult the people again who have voted twice against this project and in additon we should ask ourselves, whether we are Selucians or Majatrans. Message | Brothers of Seleucia, I am writing in a serious moment of your decision to join or not to UMN. I want to be frank: my goal, as deputy secretary and former President of the organization, was and is to be able to gather around a table all the nations of the continent Majatra. Why? Why I think it's common goal of all of us to keep the peace and be able to thrive in our land. If not we united to a common table, how can we fix any problems that may occur between us? How could we tighten bilateral, trilateral continental cooperation, safeguard, development, human rights? The union will be our strength. Each port within UMN their nationality and this will always be peaceful. Each specific identity, whether religious, political, social, confirmations will be met if the universal declaration of human rights. So do not worry about that. For this reason I ask you to think about: join the UMN is just the beginning of a journey together. Why stay out of it? I shall await with great hope your sovereign decision, hoping for the best. signed, Gian Mario Mario Co-Director of the "New Pan-Majatran Union Coalition" Repubblica Istaliana (Istalia) |

Random fact: "Kubrk" is a Jelbic word that has the colloquial meaning "old man" or "geezer". |
Random quote: "A democracy that does not allow limits is not a democracy. Just as a limitless freedom is not freedom, but prevarication. Indeed, any theory of freedom worthy of this name is first of all a limit theory. If we extend the unlimited tolerance even to those who are intolerant, if we are not willing to defend a tolerant society against the attacks of the intolerants, then the tolerants will be destroyed and the tolerance with them! Because, I ask to myself and ask you, given a certain system that we call democratic, which is today the best possible system to allow everyone to live freely and to be able to express their own thoughts, how can the same system admit attacks against its integrity? How can a system refuse the principle of the self-preservation? For this reason, to suppress the apologetics of thalerrism, it's for this reason that the exaltation of exegetes, principles, facts or methods of Thallerism and its anti-democratic aims does not constitute a violation of the freedom of manifestation of thought, but, on the contrary, the celebration of that freedom. The protection of the first premise on which a modern democratic system is based. And this premise must be safeguarded also and above all against itself and its abuses." ~ Malik Astori, Leadership of Liberty and Progress (Istalia) |
