Message | Senators, So the Senator of the Factio Liberalis-Conservativa wants 40 million Selucians to either give up their religion or be deported. I'm sure this will work out just fine and not backfire in any way. Statius Messienus Otho Minister of Justice |

Message | Senators, I have received a message from His Eminence the Archbishop of Calatia, Cardinal Roberto Azuro, and I have been asked to read it aloud: "His Holiness the Archpatriarch Justus III and the hierarchy of the Selucian Patriarchal Church in Selucia are agreed that freedom of religious belief is a fundamental right which should be respected by the government of Selucia. At the present time, we are deeply concerned about the civil liberties and general welfare of Hosians in Selucia, and we are insistent that these should be respected. However, we also wish to completely distance ourselves from any move towards infringing upon the religious freedoms of followers of other faiths and no faith. In view of this, although direct involvement in politics is something we are generally cautious about, we must request the Senate to vote down the Hosian State Religion Act". OOC: Hope everyone is OK with that bit of improvised RP. |

Message | Senators, While the AAH oppose the description of the bill, we support the religious nature of the proposals presented in the content of the bill on an ideological level. Therefore, despite our reservations concerning the description of the bill, we are willing to support this bill. Domitianus I Arch Patriarch, Holy Apostolic Hosian Church |

Message | Senators, Has His Holiness the Arch-Patriarch of the Holy Apostolic Hosian Church considered that this legislation, which he says he supports, would ban his Holy Apostolic Hosian Church from operating in Selucia? Tiberia Nemetoria Hybrida Leader of the MC |

Message | Senators, We again wish to say that we propose the religious nature of the specific articles proposed in this bill however we oppose the restrictions placed on the free will of Selucian citizens. This is because we do realize that the description does seemingly prevent us from operating and as such we oppose it. We would likewise wish to prevent a rise in religious violence in Selucia, but we do not see how further antagonizing and marginalizing religious minorities will help things. As we do not have any seated members in the Senate we can only make ideological statements through our support, or lack thereof, of a bill and the articles it presents. Message | Senators, This may be the first time in the history of Terra that a religious leader has voted for the criminalisation of his own religion. I wonder how he will explain this decision to his followers. Tiberia Nemetoria Hybrida Leader of the MC |

Message | OCC: I apologise in advance for the break in flow of the debate. As a new party attempting to establish the position of the party I vote in favor of this bill, not because I agree with the overall premise behind the bill but because the Articles proposed fit with the direction I want the AAH to go. I had thought that I had explained that in character clearly in my previous posts. Aparently not thus justifying this OCC post. I apologize for breaking flow of the debate but I felt that this was necissary. |

Message | OOC: lol this is typical of the kind of comical exchanges that develop when someone votes on the basis of the Articles and the"Political Positions" in the in-game mechanics rather than on the Bill description :). Personally I prefer to vote and comment "in character" as it were, but each to their own. |

Message | OOC: It's fully understandable that he wants to get his party position outlined for the voters as well! |
