Bill: Cabinet Proposal of June 3946
Details
Submitted by[?]: National Progressive Union
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This bill presents the formation of a cabinet. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. Traditionally, parties in the proposal vote yes, others (the opposition) vote no. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in and all parties in the proposal have voted yes, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline.
Voting deadline: February 3947
Description[?]:
The following proposal for Hutori government marks a political accord between the National Democratic Party, the Federalist Party, and the People's Conservative Party. This cabinet, alongside President Desmond Williams, will strive to usher in a new era of prosperity and equality for a nation already admired around the world. The proposal respects that each party differs on certain issues, and is intended to foster discussion and compromise between the parties. Additionally, it should be noted that Prime Minister Leah Ross will retain her position as part of this cabinet. Though the Monarchist parties of Hutori have traditionally worked separate from the Republican parties, and vice versa, the NDP believes that a member of the "Opposition" parties should have a say in the cabinet, even if they decide to oppose this proposal. All great leaps must start from a sturdy foundation, and Leah Ross has served this country as Prime Minister for almost a decade. For the sake of relative stability following the start of the new cabinet, as well as valuing her expertise in the position, the NDP wishes to extend Prime Minister Ross' term into this new cabinet. We would appreciate her guidance -- be it opposition or cooperation -- and urge all Republican parties to see the wisdom in this. Proposed by Desmond Williams President of the Federal Republic of Hutori Former Chair of the National Democratic Party |

Message | The Monarchy provided stagnation, not stability. A monarch provides nothing in the form of progress, no nudge in the right direction, or any direction, really. Monarchy is tradition for the sake of tradition, nothing more. On the other hand, Prime Minister Ross has shown that she can deliver results, both to her constituents in the Royalist Party, and to the country as a whole. While the NDP may have been opposed to some of these results in the past, we must acknowledge that she is an asset to the country, and to replace her would be folly. Thus, stability for the sake of progress, rather than stability for the sake of tradition. Robert Paine Chair of the NDP |
