Bill: Organ Donation Act of June 3950

Details

Submitted by[?]: Democratic Socialist Union

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: March 3951

Description[?]:

It is a firm belief of the DSU that people should opt -out- rather than opt -in-.

By assuming consent we will be able to save thousands of lives. The sad truth of the current situation is that people either don't know they have to consent or simply can't be bothered to get the right paperwork to affirm that they've consented.

Organ donation should not be forced upon anyone, of course, so people will be able to opt out due to any reason they see fit, whether personal, religious, or other. This way we can make sure that only those who truly do not wish to donate their organs end up not doing so, whereas the vast majority of people who are, at the very least, open to the idea of organ donation might end up saving lives when theirs sadly end.
