Message | Mr Speaker, It is time the GUPs budget cuts are given to the people. For too long have we had this massive surplus. We believe in a progressive tax system in which lower earners do not pay near us much tax as they currently are. We propose to increase the brackets in which people pay taxes up to 100,000 to make sure the rich pay their way in this country. We are likely to continue to have a surplus after this and once this passes my team will get to work on seeing what departments are needing a boost in funding or what taxes need reduced. Message | Mr Speaker, Can a party opposed to this please provide reason to appose this because this is clearly becoming out of hand. We promised cuts to taxes and that's what we are trying to do but it is being opposed without justifying it. Andrew Smith GUP Leader |

Message | Mr. Speaker, We are happy to explain why we are opposed to this. First of all, we support your Income Tax proposal. No contention there. Where we do disagree, however, is with the tax cut on luxury goods and on corporations. Our ideal tax system would be: 40% Top Income Tax Rate, 40% Corporate Tax Rate, and 40% Luxury Goods Tax Rate. You are correct that we have a large surplus, that is because we devastated large swaths of our budget thanks in part to your party's efforts! We need to restore our budgets for all of our departments, especially science and military which have been essentially wiped out. That is why we need to RAISE the corporate and luxury tax rates. If you were to propose just a progressive income tax cut (without cuts to other taxes) then we would very gladly and proudly vote in favor. We will NOT vote for any further tax cuts on the corporate income tax or the luxury tax. I yield the floor. Jack Lawton Social Democratic Chairman |

Message | Mr Speaker, Then Mr Lawton you are communist. All departments have been coming to terms with the cuts and have made the cuts neccesary to have the large surplus we are experiencing right now. Let's not forget it was the SDP who brought us into a deficit for a short time. A 40% tax on corporations would deter them from moving here reducing the amount of jobs. We might like to live in a communist fantasy but in reality it doesn't work. Socialism works and the GUP will support a socialism which works for everyone. Andrew Smith GUP Leader |

Message | Mr. Speaker, YOUR Party is the only one that can be blamed for the budget deficit due to your tax breaks for the wealthiest corporations in Hutori. We are not communist, these ridiculous scare tactics and name calling might be appropriate in the playground but they are not appropriate in civil discourse. You asked us why we are opposed to this plan and we explained why. We are Democratic Socialists in our ideal - Communism has absolutely nothing to do with a 40% Corporate Income Tax. Communists would nationalize the corporations entirely! Our plan is simple, cut taxes for the poor, raise social spending, increase spending on science and research, and get this country moving again for all of us - not just for a privileged few! Message | Mr Speaker, I'm afraid to say that it was Mr Lawton's party that brought us into a deficit not us. All things the GUP have proposed have been checked several times that everything adds up. Sure if you call yourself 'Social Democrats' let that be the case. I am ashamed you call yourself socialist but want to see less JOBS in Hutori and less EARNINGS for all Hutorians. Message | Mr Speaker, The Liberal People's Party and Populist Party supported our large cuts to expenditure so why do they not support reducations in taxes? I think they should vote as they agreed to in voting for the cuts and give the people their money to do what the hell they like with it. Let's stop being the big bad greedy government who takes way too much of people's money and instead support those who need it and not restrict those who want to make something of themselves!
