| Message | Mr Jacobs is accused by the state of terrorism, including incitement thereof; Mr Jacobs has pleaded not guilty. The state has set out its case, which includes several statement Mr Jacobs made following the Democratic Party massacre (see link above). Mr Jacobs has not decided to scrutinise the prosecutions case; therefore, I will now ask the jury to decide whether he is GUILTY or NOT GUILTY. This is a fair trial and the defendant is being judged by a cross-section of his peers. Firstly she claims responsibility, this in itself simply is not a crime but it links to her next speech. He then gives a reason for why he did it, that the Democrats had 'threatened' the Left wing parties. But even worse he then says he could do it again in the future! This dangerous man has the capability and power to kill, he's already done it and admitted he would do it again. | Message | **** Sentencing***** Court Rise. **** Judge Rumpole enters the room **** Will the defendant please stand. Mr Jacobs you have pleaded guilty to the charge of terrorism, including incitement thereof. The maximum sentence is life imprisonment or banishment. This is a very serious crime and the grave repercussions for this nation are clear for everyone to see. At one point you would not even respond in this court, which would have left me with very little choice but to impose the maximum sentence possible. However, in recent days you have put forward mitigation and taken part in the legal process and this is to your credit. You have also pleaded guilty and this will also be taken into account. That said, it is quite clear you claimed credit for this attack and quite clear that your actions had repercussions, which indirectly led to a number of other echo attacks around the country. For these reasons I impose the following sentence: - Five years in jail (one year of this has already been served on remand so four more years) and a $25,000 Baltusian Dollar fine to be paid to the Victims of Terrorism Trust. - Mr Jacobs must stand down immediately as leader of the Progressive Party and may not stand for leadership until he leaves jail. The political parties of this land WILL NOT be asked to vote on whether the Progressive Party has been in breach of Article 9.2 of the Constitution, because it is our judgement that this was clearly Mr Jacobs and not the party claiming responsibility. Mr Jacobs, you have concerns over bias and therefore the right to appeal, if you so wish. You must do this through the Appeals Court Justice (Freedom Party). He knows his rights, he knows this is a RP from players not a political party or any bias - please try to see/understand the difference. He pleaded guilty - what else could the judge do! He also has the right to appeal in front of the Freedom Party judge, which in your view, where we can only be biassed parties and nothing else, means he has got a left wing party listening to his appeal! So no problem. As a point, if you are saying"you will pay!", that means you are threatening a supreme court judge, not a member of the Patriotic Party - again please appreciate that. | Message | OOC - He actually pleaded guilty. We do not need a jury verdict if he pleaded guilty. Scroll up the messages and you will see. He also said Prog Party was "fully against" the actions of its leader Mr Jacobs - thus no action will be taken against the party but Mr Jacobs must pay for a crime he admitted to. But because he pleaded guilty he gets a lighter sentence. Hope this helps to clarify things. |
