Message | Mr. Speaker While we applaud the Progressiveness of the HRA's Bill to rid Hutori of dangerous weapons of mass destruction the true and unfortunate truth is that Hutori has possessed them now for over a century and they remain the ultimate insurance policy in keeping Hutori safe from nuclear attacks by foreign powers Until.such a day comes that's no nation need possess these destructive tools we can not support of removing such a potent safeguard of Hutorian Security especially as they are currently held exclusively as a weapon of Defence. Message | "Mr. Speaker, We will vote in favor of this bill, and applaud the HRA for proposing it. It is worth noting that when Stewart Taft was Chancellor, nuclear weapons were outlawed, and there was no war. We enjoyed peace without having to worry about maintaining dangerous world-destroying devices." - Liam Thatcher (LDP-AD) Senator for Acton, North Leader of the Liberal Democratic Party |

Message | Mr. Speaker, While the Senator Thatcher does speak the truth it is only a partial one. It is true that during Taft's Chancellery the law stated that nuclear weapons were not to be used and that there was no war. However, this is a classic case of the conflation of causation and correlation. During said time our main nuclear rival was in a state of governmental transition. They were not prepared or interested in making good on their threats at that time however, that is most certainly not the case now. Also the piece of legislation did not state what was to be done with the weaponry. As such a large majority of the weapons were taken to a secure storage facility. While others remained in active service during time only our ability to use them was significantly hindered. Furthermore, the current governing law states that in an event of global nuclear disarmament Hutori is to also comply. It is the stated goal of our arsenal to serve solely as a deterrent. Message | ''Mr. Speaker We would have liked to live in a world where we could approve this bill. But sadly, we live in a dangerous world where sometime you need to do terrible thing in order to protect your home. Nuclear weapons are a bad thing and I hope that we will never have to use them. But if the security of the Hutorians people is in danger, we need to be ready. -Hillary Brown Senator of the National Progress Party |
