Message | ''Mr. Speaker, Normally I would have agreed with that bill. But right now our nation is in the middle of a crisis and we don't have the time or the money to make a new election. Of course 99 empty seats is a sad thing but it's certainly not a emergency. Maybe we should call for a new election in a few years but right now it is to early.'' -Joey Barton Former Prime Minister and senator |

Message | Mr. Speaker With respect to the former Right Honourable Prime Minister it's the Law. Under the Renewed Parliamentary Procedures Act that this Senate passed the Federal Elections Commission automatically has the authority and duty to call for early elections if 15% or more of the Seata of the Senate are vacated. These requirements are met and we are asking only thay the National Progress Party and Federalist Party honour the very law they helped passed and empower the FEC to do their job. To not vote in favor is to be in contempt of the very rules and law that govern this nation. Further we demand to know what crisis this nation is going through exactly? How does money enter into this, most political parties have been fundraising independently unless the reason is that the NPP doesn't feel comfortable continuing to deep into the government coffers when their Party caucus are too lazy to fundraise on their own. Steven Gregerich Senator for Fairfax Leader of the Liberal Party of Hutori |
