Bill: Adoption Reform Act of October 2183
Details
Submitted by[?]: Proletariat Revolution Party
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: November 2184
Description[?]:
Recognising that recent studies have shown a surge in the number of children being put up for adoption for reasons that aren't being disclosed for privacy reasons, it is imperative that the government allow more willing parents to adopt and eliminate some of the bureaucratic red tape. It is important to maintain a standard level for all prospective parents, while not alienating those who back down in the face of endless government regulations and bureaucratic red tape. By eliminating a small part of this, the government can help reduced the stress on the child welfare system while allowing for more children to be taken into permanant homes. |
Proposals
Article 1
Proposal[?] to change The government's policy concerning adoption.
Old value:: Adoption is strictly regulated by the government. Only by passing several tests and by following an intensive program applicants can adopt children.
Current: Regulation is used to screen out only those with a previous history of child abuse.

Message | AM AAP would actually prefer to see this going the other way... i.e. instead of making adoption easier, we should make it add 'requirements' for families to have their OWN children. But, we shall support. |
