Message | M. Modérateur, MM. et Mmes. de la Assemblée, The Alliance Radicale would like to make clear how subversive this is of secularism and religious neutrality in Lourenne. State officials must be neutral towards all religious groups, and although they may hold religious views and participate in the religious community, their religion and politics should not intertwine. Furthermore, the bill proclaims itself to be for "those who are religious"--as Article 2 makes clear, it means those of religions the state approves of. |

Message | M. Modérateur, The PCL fully agrees the the Alliance Radicale. Whilst many, including myself, are religious in our party, the state has absolutely no role to play in any religion. We will therefore not be giving this bill support and voting in conjuncture with the AR. Mme. Mélanie Desjardins Third Officer of the PCL / Ministre Exécutive de la Santé et des Services Sociaux |
Date | 14:48:20, April 20, 2017 CET | From | Les Social-Progressives | To | Debating the 06/4198 Religious Laws & Legislations Act |
Message | Honoured members of the Assemblée Nationale, The AVL is not in favour of article 1. We believe government oversight concerning religious schools is important to Ensure quality of the education they provide. Furthermore, we do not support article 2 as well. We believe it is not the state's decision what people can and can not wear. But the government has a task to be neutral, to extend no support to any religion or religious group. Therefore we would like to see all public figures, as representatives of the Lourennian government, to act and dress neutral, as a sign of professionality and tolerance. Thank you. - Béatrice Vaugeois, AVL shadow minister for Health and Social Services |
