Message | M. Modérateur, Honourable Members of l'Assemblée Nationale We believe in a greener environment, and a future where only nuclear and renewable energy sources are used. However, this future will not be achieved should we not alter the current legislation in place. With government intervention within this market, it allows companies to charge higher prices for the energy they produce. What does this mean in turn? It requires the Lourennian citizens to make a choice between paying through the nose for renewable energy, or choosing a more affordable source of energy be it coal, oil or gas. It is our aim for renewable energy to be on the same competitive level as fossil fuels. We wish to see companies competing for customers by supplying cheap, but efficient renewable energy. This, however, M. Modérateur and Honourable Members, cannot be achieved without making the market competitive. It is our sincere belief that this move will help us see progression towards a greener future. We understand some may be skeptic of releasing complete government control. We understand fully the argument that the deregulation of the market will help non-environmentally friendly companies exploit the legislation. However, M. Modérateur, the PCL would argue that this opinion is fallacious. That is because this legislation would allow the companies who wish to sell environmentally-friendly produce and energy to prosper more within the market. It allows these said companies to undercut their rivals regarding advancements in technology and custom with customers. The PCL hopes that the Honourable Members within l'Assemblée Nationale will see the logic within this bill, and will make the obvious and perceptive decision of seeing this bill through the House. We thank the Honourable Members for listening to our proposal, and hope you shall vote in conjuncture with us. Mme. Jocelyn Bourque PCL Candidate for Minister of Environment and Tourism Mme. Udo Canek PCL Candidate for Minister of Science and Technology M. William Chauveau Director of the PCL |

Message | Honoured members of the Assemblée Nationale, The Ministry of Environment and Tourism does not expect the environmental friendly energy sources (EFES's) to win the financial battle with the much cheaper non-environmental friendly energy sources without government help. The government subsidies give EFES's providers the chance to advertise themselves, giving EFES's more leverage on the Lourennian market. This bill puts the position of EFES's on the market in serious jeopardy. Thank you. - Roselyne Chevotet, Minister of Environment and Tourism of Lourenne |
