MessageMister Speaker,

My colleague, Madam Santsavev, already spoke about one's right to decide over his or her own body earlier today, whilst debating the Euthanasia Act of 4200. This situation is not much different, but we are not debating whether abortion should be legal or not, but whether the government should fund it. Something we think differently about.

As a Liberal party, we urge the government to limit its economic involvement in the daily lives of our citizens, and abortion is a part of this daily life. There's no reason for the government to fund the abortion of a child that is being carried by a woman who is part of the top 1% of this nation's population in terms of financial resources. The government should only intervene when there's a situation where a family is not capable of paying for an abortion, as it is our duty as government to guarantee the wellbeing of our (future) citizens. Being born in a family that can't even afford your abortion would not be a responsible choice if we look at it from that perspective.

I thus ask the members of the SP, GLP and Vorwärts to abandon this bill and to support our newer " Social Justice for Abortions Act ".

Thank you, Mister Speaker.

Randolf Urquhart, leader of the DAF.

Random fact: It is possible for a player to transfer ownership of a character or a royal house to another player. This should be done in a public way, such as on the Character Transfers thread, so that if a dispute arises in the future, Moderation can be pointed towards evidence of the transfer.
